The Wicked Release Day and Character Interview

A demon with a pure heart, Micah Condie lives his life by a code of ethics, but breaking that code may be the only way for him to survive. A supernatural entity in her own right, Hope Gentry would do anything in her power to protect her loved ones, but she may be the one who puts them in peril.

When the Demon Impiorum challenges the laws that keep guardians and demons in balance, ancient enforcers of justice intervene. Micah, Hope, and their mentor Jonathan become entangled in a conspiracy that will test even the deepest love and trust.

Someone will commit an act of betrayal. Someone will forever abandon a loved one.

Someone will enter THE WICKED.

Here on Fang Freakin’ Tastic, I have been granted an interview with Jonathan. One of the main characters in Mythology, Book 1 in the Mythology Series. He is my favorite character in the book and I thought I would share our interview with you here!

Jonathan, thanks for joining us today! I know you are busy with The Wicked release coming up and all, and I appreciate you taking the time to answer some of my silly questions. Just so you know, you are my favorite character in Mythology. Your snarky personality is great and being easy on the eyes certainly helps. Being quite sarcastic myself, I can understand your frustrations at the non-snarks among us. That is why I chose to do my interview with you instead of one of the other characters from the series.

For those of us who don’t know you, tell us a little bit about yourself and where you came from.

I’m originally from Amiens, France, which is about an hour north of Paris (I haven’t been back there for about a century, though). Currently, I reside in Buffalo, New York where I am director of the guardians in that territory.

How long have you been a guardian, and what exactly does that mean?

I transformed in the 16th century during the Massacre of Vassy. Guardians are essentially the same thing as guardian angels, returned to this realm after death to watch out for the souls of mortals. But some of us act more like angels than others.

How many people have you guarded?

I cast my protection over people every day, but I have not been keeping track overall.

Do you get bored with it?

No. I consider it to be a penance for my past transgressions.

Does being a guardian keep you from having a life of your own?

I don’t sleep very much, so I can generally have a life of my own. However, since becoming director, I have had much less time to myself, and I do miss that…

Many of us think you are pretty bad ass and hot, have you had any special lady friends over the years that we should be jealous of (aside from Hope)?

Hmm…. I’m not sure you need to be jealous of Hope. You will meet one of them in book two, and I will allow you to determine for yourself whether you are jealous of her or not.

What drew you into the art world?

I liked to paint a bit when I was mortal. I suppose the photography was a natural extension of that once the technology became available. Hope likes to poke fun of me about that, but I’m really not a total Luddite. 😉

At the risk of sounding like a stalker have you always been watching Hope, or was this a recent assignment?

Haha. I have known about Hope for a while… I didn’t initiate any contact with her until the day she walked into my art gallery.

Why do you think you are so drawn to her?

I apologize for not being able to answer that, my dear, but you will find that out in book two.

I know you want Hope to be happy, but do you think you can truly accept it if she chooses Micah over you?

Ah… You must be thinking that this is some sort of love triangle? It is not a choice of me versus Micah. My author despises love triangles. 😉

Well, just so you know, if she does choose Micah, I think I know a few ladies that would be more than willing to comfort you in your time of need. (Just don’t tell my husband!)

Your secret is safe with me.

What is your author, Helen Boswell, really like? Is she as awesome as I’ve heard?

She is a perfectionist, and she wants us to be the very best that we can be. Or the very worst, depending on which character you speak of. I believe the term would be… “slavedriver”? But yes, she is awesome, and I am not being immodest when I say that I am one of her favorites.

Is there anything important you think we should know about you before we start reading more of your story?

You get to see different sides of me in this book as opposed to book one. It will lead to book three, which will contain my POV and Micah’s.

Ok, so here are a few questions that are a little bit more personal, just so we can get to know you better and maybe send you presents or something. Not so we can stalk you. Definitely not that.

Haha. Of course not 😉

What is your favorite food?

Coquille St. Jacques, if prepared properly. Please don’t send me that through the mail, however…

Do you like the beach?

God, no.

What’s your address?

Haha. That’s classified.

Phone number?

Also classified. I prefer more personal modes of communication.

Drapier was my original surname – I have since changed it. I typically use this for guardian business, however, though I might permit occasional e-mails from readers.

I’m afraid Twitter and I do not get along. I am not a chatty person and had issues preserving my true voice when I was on Twitter for a short time last year.

What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

Does spare time not include the time I spend hunting? I like to try out new restaurants (I suppose Hope and I have that in common).

Do you have any weird hobbies?

*raises eyebrow* Define weird… I like to go shooting, if that counts. Not in Buffalo, but when I can get away from the city.

What grocery store do you shop at?

Is there a certain day you like to shop for groceries?

No, but I actually prefer to go at night.

What kind of music do you like?

I’m open to almost any type of music. I had a custom MP3 player put into my car and home that can fit several terabytes of music.

Have you been to any concerts?

I go on occasion as part of my service to the community – it’s a good place to find damaged souls. I most recently went to see Soul Asylum. Not joking. HAHAHA

What is your favorite movie?

Do you have an alarm system on your house?

I have a security code that you need to enter prior to coming into my building but not an alarm.

Do you like cupcakes?

Not my favorite dessert, no.

Do you have any pets?

No. I used to have a hunting dog when I lived in the country, though.

Well, that’s the end of our interview. Jonathan, I hope you had a good time here on Fang Freakin’ Tastic Reviews. I am looking forward to seeing what insanity you get yourself into in The Wicked. Please don’t get yourself killed. Please come visit us again sometime!

*kisses your hand* It was a pleasure. Thank you for hosting me on your wonderful blog. Anytime *swoons*!
