John, an 11 year old who can do amazing things with robots is introduced to a very old manuscript that leads him into a secret society with his friends as part of it. His parents don’t want him involved with robots because apparently he burned down their home at some point.
That is honestly the long and short of the book. I really tried to like this one, I even read the entire thing even though after about two chapters I wanted to put it down. The biggest hurdle to this book is that it was not properly edited or proofread. I mean like really really bad in that department. So while there was a good plot in there, it was so mired down by the editorial issues that you really don’t know what is going on.
I honestly love the idea of secret societies, how people are chosen for them, and what makes them tick. I mean I have multiple books about secret societies that span most of mankind. Sadly this will not be one of those. If the author was to get a solid editor who really took the proverbial red pen to it, I think that it could be a good book and a good read.
