Reaper extraordinaire, Laney Larson, is stuck in Liberty, Oakwood of all places, for two reasons. One, there's way more paranormal activity going on than normal for a little town like Liberty. And two, a sexy as hell cop called Troy.
So when the proverbial hits the fan and they get wind of a demon break-out from the third hell, a prison even the demon king himself won't set foot in, what's a reaper to do but strap on her blades and help track the escapee down? But then the creature takes her man, and all bets are off.
A reaper, a demon and a cop... will Death claim them all, or just one?

This is the second in the series that starts with The Reaper and the Cop.
So I actually liked this book more than the I liked the first in the series. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the first one, as you can see from my review above, but this one for me gave more background and more in-depth into the characters.
So Laney is back with her beau Troy in Liberty, a small town that has the outside feeling of a peaceful location to visit and live. However under the guise of peaceful exterior there are dark and sinister creatures and events that have started to occur.
So Troy knows that Laney is supernatural but doesn’t know what kind of supernatural she is, and Laney isn’t just supernatural, she is a reaper, of the Grimm variety. In fact she has some grimm in her that speaks at random times, you know when sexy times are about to happen, or when something heinous is behind her. Wierdly enough though her grimmy is silent about Troy and what is going on in Liberty. If that isn’t enough three girls decide they are going to have some fun and pretend to be twitches, get it teen witches :). Anyways they decide that they are going to call on a demon, but not your ordinary cuddly demon, no a demon from the third hell which is so bad that the demon kind, al la Lucifer doesn’t even step into. I mean some nasty demons live there. But it is no problem for those twitches, I mean seriously they can handle it right?
Oh right, yeah they can’t and Laney is not only pulled into a mess for a reaper but also has to defend the town that she is starting to like AND save Troy who as a police officer gets called to all the gruesome crime scenes, I mean a demon needs to eat too right? Well mr. third hell demon finds out the tie and starts to hunt Troy. Well Laney has to be the white knight, or in this case maybe black knight since she is a reaper after all.
I really liked this book and I loved how the author left it open for future books. I really hope that they are written, because Laney’s story isn’t over. This book does have some sexy times and some injuries, and some more sexy times so be warned that if you don’t want to read about reaper on cop either skip those pages or close your eyes or something :). Honestly the only complaint that I have is that there isn’t already a third one that will allow me to continue to feast on Troy.
