“Upon mine death for the blood ye have shed, Every daughter born to ye shall die before it draws breath, to which ye will know pain and worse, I cast unto ye mine blood curse.” ~ Vadoma

Four years after the Blood Curse, Pril of the Peddlers vows to protect her child against the evil men who hunt her. When her child is kidnapped, she is forced to ask Merchant runner, Kade Walker, for his help.

Kade Walker needs to find the gypsy child. Blackmailed and pushed beyond his own moral code, he is determined to do whatever it takes. When he comes across the Peddler clan, he is sure the girl is there, however all hope is lost when the gypsies capture him. Time is running out—until Pril makes him an offer he cannot refuse.
Amidst greed, lust, revenge and love, Pril will need to trust Kade. But as the evil nears and doubt creeps in, will she discover that the enemy has been standing next to her all along?

My Review:

Coming from a family of Gypsies I was really excited about reading this book.  Mind you mine are from the 1800s and Turkey but I still have it back there.  I really enjoyed how she explained Gypsy culture and really tried to stay true to the original gypsies, not the ones you see on TV, which trust me irk the you know what out of me.

Kat is a good writer, and I really think that she did the culture and characters justice with her writing style.  I felt connected to the characters and was able to relate to them on a deeper level than many characters in books I read today.  There were a couple of instances that I was thoroughly confused, but I hung in there and overall this is a good read.  Is it the best thing I have ever read, no, but it is a good read and I really appreciate the try at being historically correct.  If it is one thing I hate more than anything else is when people write about a historical period and are unable or unwilling to do the research to ensure it is at least plausible.  Kat did the time and I really like that about this book.

If you are interested in a look at Gypsy culture prior to the television shows of 2012-2013 I would look into reading this book.

Overall 4 fangs for this imaginative and unique book.
