About Aurora Shifters: We are a collaboration of Alaskan authors who decided to put our own Arctic spin on hot paranormal shapeshifters. Look for wolves, bears, moose, ravens, seals, and many, many others. Each book stands on its own, with a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhangers, but be warned - once you read one, you'll want them all.
I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Find the Author: Website, Twitter, GoodreadsI met author Boone Brux when I went to Coastal Magic in 2015. Since then we have spoken once in awhile. In between our busy schedules try to maintain some form of communication. She is the author of a reaper series. That series is about a mother who after becoming a widow learns that she is a grim reaper. I highly recommend that series to everyone who likes a fun read about grim reapers.
This story however is not in that vein. In fact it is a collaboration with other Alaska based authors and is romance. Now I am always up for a good romance, and this series, and book do not disappoint. Polar Shift is the 4th book in the Alaska Alphas series. Kai Johnson is one of three raven shifter brothers who own a run down lodge that they hope to renovate, but the money just isn’t coming in. He is stressing about life when Haven, a childhood friend from another pack comes to the lodge wearing a huge engagement ring. She is the daughter of an alpha, but in her mind she doesn’t want what comes with that. She wants to have fun and spend time with her friend, even if that means a possible war between wolf and raven shifters.
I like this series as it follows the Johnson brothers. It starts with their buying and trying to renovate the lodge. Even when it seems everything is being thrown at them to fail. This story is the second book in the series I read, because of course I didn’t read them in order. I am a big fan of Boone’s writing style and enjoy their books. This book is no exception. I enjoy parts of Alaska into the story. It makes it feel in some cases that the reader is actually in Alaska with the characters. The overarching plot of love between different packsĀ Also the idea that these characters are trying to help fellow shifters, even when it seems hopeless.
