Happy Birthday Natalie!!!
I had originally scheduled a review for today, but then I realized that today is a very special day for me and my family.
Today is my older daughter, Natalie’s 13th birthday! I would love to tell you all how amazing she is, but I will keep it as short as I can because I know not everyone is actually interested, but that’s ok. lol.
Natalie is an amazing kid. Seriously. She is an 8th grader this year. All of her academic classes are advanced and has been earning high school credits since last school year. She also took her SAT’s last December and did extremely well, scoring higher that 75% of “college bound high school seniors”.
She loooooves music. She taught herself how to play guitar and then bass. She got her bass for Christmas and I can’t begin to tell you how crazy it is to realize the music coming from her room is not from her radio, but actually from her! For her birthday, her Daddy and I have gotten her concert tickets to see her favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold.
She is sarcastic and snarky just like her mom and has a sense of humor that would make her PawPaw proud if he were still with us. She can insult you in 2 different languages and 10 different ways before you even realize she was doing it.
She is protective and loyal. She will not hesitate to tell a bully to knock it off and leave someone alone regardless of how she feels about the person being bullied, or the age of the bully. We had a situation in 6th grade where she went to the counselor about a teacher that was bullying a student that Natalie didn’t like. She did it because it was the right thing to do, not because she liked the girl. The girl then turned around and told the teacher it was Natalie that told on him, but Natalie handled it like better than most adults probably would have.
I love this kid. Not only do I love her, I actually LIKE her, which says a lot, because I really don’t like a lot of kids. My list of kids I can tolerate is pretty short, but she is definitely at the top. I feel so lucky to have her as my kid and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
So I would really love it if you guys could maybe post a little comment telling her Happy Birthday and welcome to being a teenager. If you read this whole post, thank you. I appreciate it.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and reads something awesome. Let me know if you do! I’m always looking for something good to read!
