This is another great book of short stories from Jackson Dean Chase. How he can really get into the mind of teen girls still baffles me, but he does an amazing job of it. His stories are dark but really do a great job of sending a message with some of them. Be it how we deal with one another as teens or the lengths that family will go to for their loved ones, he really has a way with words that leaves me in awe of his understanding of the female psyche.
The first story in this book, Stitched Together was horrifyingly sweet. I really felt for the characters. It was a little bit predictable, but not all of the stories in this book were. There are some great twists and turns among his pages.
His poetry is great. Most of it is fairly short, but the length doesn’t take away from the power of his words.
Lost Girls is a great book with a little bit of something for everyone. Regardless of what kind of monsters you like, be they human or otherwise, you will find something you like within his pages.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
