One of the reasons why I like Halloween Carnival and other anthologies is I get to meet new authors.  I also get to read snippets of my favorite authors who may be spreading into another genre.  Each story is unique, and that also means if I don’t like one, I can move on to another.

The bad side is when I love a story and it ends, as all short stories do, I want more.  I have noticed that many authors write in their own world so if you want more you can pick up a book of theirs and immerse yourself again.

The stories are in order, Strange Candy, Rage of Achilles or When Mockingbirds Sing, Demon Air, La Hacienda de los Muertos, and #makehalloweenscaryagain.

Strange Candy is a story about a man.  A strange piece of candy not only changes his present, but sets about a change of his future.

Rage of Achilles or When Mockingbirds Sing is the story of a man confessing his sins to a new priest.  The Priest attempts t0 intervene when the secrets become too much.

Demon Air is about Halle Barry taking a trip to Australia when the flight crew decides they have other plans.

La Hacienda de los Muertos is about Trick, a western movie actor who does not believe in urban legends or any of that trash.  When sent to Mexico, things happen that change his outlook on legends.

#Makehalloweenscaryagain is the story of a writer who lives in a small town.  All of a sudden the peaceful community is shook up by a simple slogan. When everyone thinks it is one person, the real person continues on their merry way of making Halloween Scary Again.

Overall this is a good selection of shorts that creeped me out while at the same time reaffirming why I love the halloween season.

This book will not disappoint.
