Also by this author: To Catch Her Death (Grim Reality, #1), Styx and Stoned, Styx and StonedThe V V Inn has a ghost problem. When the lurking specters draw the attention of Constantine, head of Grim Reaper Services, he calls in the only local who can return the remote resort to its former tranquility, Lisa Carron—resident Alaskan reaper.
Still new to the death gig, Lisa accepts the job. After all, how much trouble could one ghost be? Once at the hotel, she learns that not only is the inn full of the dearly departed, she’ll also be working for vampires. Throw in Asa, a young vamp hot enough to melt the Arctic ice, and Lisa realizes she’s way out of her element.
Asa didn’t know what to expect when told a reaper would be working on the property, but Lisa certainly wasn’t it. Blond and curvy, she’s very easy on the eyes. Tasked with helping her, Asa soon realizes that not only can she provide the dead a peaceful passing, but offer him solace in a way no other woman can.
C.J. Ellisson is the author behind the VV inn series. I read the first one and loved it, an inn in the middle of nowhere for vampires. Who wouldn’t like that? Well Death Times Two is partially about the VV Inn and partially about a reaper. Yes, Boone Brux, our resident and lovely Reaper author has corroborated with C.J. Ellisson, our resident and lovely Vampire Inn Author. By Resident, I mean someone we know.
So before I get into this review. For awhile this anthology was for sale, but the contributing authors have since decided to pull it from the shelves and use it for promos and stuff. SO if you want to read this story, which you should. You are going to need to get online and check out the authors.
SPOILER ALERT
If you have not read the VV Inn series to their conclusion, or wherever they are now, stop reading this, go get those, and then start this. Why? Because there are spoilers about who have died, who haven’t, and some of the other inner workings of the inn.
So Lisa, the Reaper from Alaska who didn’t want to be a reaper is given a job at the VV inn. This job is not your run of the mill stupid death reap that Lisa has been doing up to now. No, this is some high level reaping, and it is just because her partner was on another job. You know the partner that she has hot dreams about? The partner that things have occurred but you need to read all of the reaper books AND the reaper short story. Again this may come as a spoiler if you haven’t read any of the Reaper of VV Inn books. Seriously if you haven’t, then this is all your own fault and you should be ashamed.
Because it brings two of my personal favorite series together, of course I liked it. Sadly I have not read all the VV Inn books and so there were a couple of things that I did not know. I mean it happens, and when I do get to those stories, I will know the finale, but ce la vis.
