Daisy McDare wants nothing more than to find the man of her dreams and build a thriving interior decorator business. Instead she finds herself heartbroken and in the middle of a murder investigation.
Daisy is in the middle of a decorating job at a famed local celebrity's mansion when the arrogant painter is found murdered in his backyard studio. Suddenly there's a house full of suspects, each with a bigger reason to want the victim dead than the next.
When the local police get stumped during their investigation, Daisy realizes she'll have to take matters into her own hands.
But she can't crack the case alone. She recruits her cupcake-baking best friend Samantha, wise-cracking Granny Annie, and her feisty West Highland Terrier Shamus to find the killer.
This is not a straight to the point paranormal book, but it was a lot of fun so I decided to throw it up.
Daisy is a young woman who travels to a nearby town to assist a friend of hers in redesigning her party room. While there she is confronted with what money really does do to people, including her childhood friend. Upon arriving the next day to start designing, the police are there to investigate the death of the patriarch of the family. This throws her into a predicament as not only her friend the wife of the deceased but also a suspect. So what is an enterprising young woman to do? Oh just investigate the murder on her own.
Daisy is a young woman who is not only a interior designer but a dessert addict, I mean literally the part of the book that does not deal with her sleuthing around or actually designing an entire has to do with her eating some form of dessert. I mean I am not one to turn down a cupcake but after awhile it gets a little tiresome.
This is not a serious book, yes there is a murder, but honestly it is a lot of fun and a really fast read. I really enjoyed it in that it really was different than what I had been reading lately and it was a nice break. It was upbeat, snarky, and in general enjoyable. It doesn’t hurt that K.M. Morgan sets the book in Oregon.
