Find the Author: Website, Twitter, Goodreads, AmazonAinsley Connor has the perfect life - a successful real estate career in Manhattan and her books to keep her company. Best of all, she is far away from the unusual college town where she grew up.
If only she didn't have the urge to turn into a giant wolf every time the moon was full...
When a tragic accident forces her back to Tarker's Mills, she finds herself caught up in a steamy web of shifters and magic, locked in a power struggle for control of the pack she left behind.
For Ainsley, the toughest wolf she faces might just be the one inside of her.
In Episode 2, Ainsley learns about the danger facing the pack, and discovers that someone she trusts is hiding a dark secret. Will she be able to restrain the beast inside as it struggles to break free?
Curse of the Alpha: Episode 2 is the second novella in Curse of the Alpha, a serial told in six episodes, much like a TV show. It tells the story of Ainsley Connor, a female werewolf, and her struggle to come to terms with her past, and accept her true nature and her role in the future of the pack. It contains strong sexual elements, and is NOT intended for readers under the age of 18.
Ainsley Connor returns to the small town of her youth after her parents die in an accident. She has been living as a successful real estate agent in Manhatten and she is perfectly happy never stepping foot back in her home town again. Well now she has to, to settle the estates, clean out her father’s university office, and the house that she grew up in. As she returns home she realizes that her plans may not go as she originally thought. That was to get in, clear it all up, and get out back to her place.
Oh did I forget to mention that she is a werewolf, and hates being one. She has no desire to be part of anything. That includes her family’s legacy. Her father was the alpha of the local shifter community and the town needing a new alpha. Not only does she not want the job of being a new alpha, but she definitely does not want that being an alpha entails, which right now is a husband. A female alpha is rare, and so many believe that Ainsley needs to husband, a strong male shifter to help her with the pack.
In the second installment not only is Ainsley still running from her fate. Now she has to worry about someone telling secrets about her. Well keeping secrets, and telling secrets, and really there are a lot of secrets going on in this story. Throw in a new guy with all sorts of secrets, and it spells disaster. Well, actually I don’t know it spells because the end of book 2 is a cliffhanger. So both myself and you will have to wait to see what happens. I mean it may not even be a disaster, it may be good? Probably not from the end of the book, but who knows.
I enjoyed this story. They are both novellas in length, much like a 30 minute TV show. So be prepared to blow through them, and want more. A lot more. The author wanted it that way though, for them to be short episodes to whet the appetite for what is to come in the series. Obviously I would have liked more, but to find out the rest of what happens, I will get the next two episodes.
