There is the world we can see and there is the world you can’t. Clock is the protector between those two worlds. When the other world is threatening to come into ours, it is only Clock that can see the damage and he is likely the only one that can fix it.
When things go bad, they don’t just go a little bad, they go all the way, earth ending bad. Obviously, that is the goal of evil. Okay, maybe not evil per se but not good either. There are also immense objects that carry power, for example, Clock’s weapons are full of power. Sometimes that power is desired by others. This book isn’t about one story, but multiple smaller stories that all combine to make a larger book about what really happens when our only defender is what appears to be a kid.
I believe that there are clocks around us always. Those you can see and those you can’t. For Clock, he can be seen by those who have the gift. The gift is not being otherworldly, I believe it is more about having a 6th sight about you. Understanding the power of the earth and that not everything is clear-cut.
I enjoy this book, it gives me hope that there is someone looking out for us. Maybe there are not enemies of ours from other worlds or dimensions, but there is evil and enemies around the country, world, and who knows what else. I think that is the base of this story. We all want someone who can protect us, we all want someone who can shine a light when it is dark. There are times, however, that we can’t be who we need to be for those we can about, for those we love, and so why not have an invisible being that can help us in our time of need.
