Professor Brizza is dealing with the murder of her family when all of a sudden the world that she knew is no more. Her eyes are opened a new world that has all of the dangers you expect with a paranormal book and all the love and romance that you expect from a romance book. Brizza not only has to come to terms with the death of her family, but the secrets that her family held while at the same time learning to deal with her own magical powers and what that may mean for her future.
The plot thickens as the truths start to come out and Brizza must decide if she is going to use her gift or shun it. If shunned it may mean the end of her world as she knows it, but if she accepts it, her world just got a lot tougher.
This story in my opinion could have been a lot better. I don’t know if it was the writing or the way that the characters were portrayed, but for me it was really hard to not only understand what was going on but who the characters really were. Some people may really like it, and it does have a good plot, but for me it didn’t shine and there were some conversations that didn’t really make sense, and that didn’t sound like they were real, but rather forced. One thing I will say is that as the book goes on it does get better, so what I may have originally ranked it lower, it did redeem itself some towards the end.
